Clint walked into the Middlebridge library with a yellow legal pad. Dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans, he almost forgot to take off his aviator sunglasses as he approached Jane, the librarian. Jane looked up from her book.
“I was hoping you could help me find some information,” Clint said, looking at his legal pad.
“Sure. I’m happy to help,” Jane said.
Clint looked at his list. “I need to know how to tie a bowtie.”
Jane searched the directory and found a kids’ book on the topic. “This book is actually in stock. I’ll get it for you.”
“I need a recipe for a carrot cake,” Clint said.
“I can show you where the cookbook section is,” Jane replied.
“Okay, next question. Where do I find a Vrgibfy light bulb?” Clint asked.
“A what?”
“It’s a real thing,” Clint said.
“There’s a Home Depot nearby. I can give you a map to show you how to get there,” Jane said.
“Final question,” Clint said. “What’s the weather look like for this week?”
“Maybe I should show you to a computer,” Jane suggested.
“No. I don’t use technology anymore,” Clint said. “No screens for me.”
“So can I just Google it for you?” Jane asked.
“What are the other options?” Clint said.
“I can turn on the Weather Channel or go get the Farmer’s Almanac.”
Clint thought about it for a second. “Can you Google how accurate the Farmer’s Almanac is for me? But let me walk away first.”
