Zane loved good gossip. He spent much of his free time going to different places around town and seeing if he could pick up on the drama there. He was a Gossip Guy along with his friend Mitch. They would meet every Tuesday to share what they knew.
Zane was excited to fill Mitch in on the drama he learned from a barista named Francesca at The Pine Street Coffee Company. She worked at a local club at night and spent the week filling Zane in on all the drama there.
Zane started talking as soon as he saw Mitch, “So I met this barista named Francesca who works at a club downtown. There seems to be so much drama there.”
“Wait, Francesca, who works at Pine Street?” Mitch asked.
“Yeah, the same one. You know her?”
“I know her, but she doesn’t work downtown at a club,” Mitch said. “She works at a petting zoo just off the highway.”
“How do you know this?”
“My niece loves that petting zoo.”
Zane teetered between being confused or furious, “Then why did she tell me all of this club drama.”
“Maybe she got a third job. What was the drama?”
“There was this altercation between two coworkers,” Zane began, but his tone shifted as he realized what was actually going on. “I thought they were nicknames, but Billy Goat and Llama fought over who was going to let someone buy the next round for the staff.”
“Oh, I know that Llama too. He’s mean. My niece is scared of him,” Mitch said, laughing. Zane couldn’t believe his gossip was so misleading. “Do you want to come to the petting zoo this weekend with my niece? We’ll just have to watch out—the pig is the bouncer at the door and can be a big problem.”
