Music Teachers For Toyotathon

The Toyotathon people were a little overwhelmed by Louis Sideways’ big idea. They were expecting something flashy, full of fireworks and touching moments—that’s why you bring in Sideways marketing—but this idea was way out there.

Sideways wanted them to go to every big city in the country and find the longest-tenured music teachers at the big high schools. Then, they would put the music teacher in a commercial where they go to a Toyotathon to get a new car.

“But why would people be excited to see their music teacher on TV?”

“I mean, everyone likes to know people on TV,” Sideways said. “If they’re a good music teacher, they’re either feared or loved. With either response, the former music student will want to do what their music teacher does. You’re not looking to get the high schoolers. You’re trying to get the 35-year-old who still wakes up in a sweat because they dreamed they missed a cue, and Miss Sanders humiliated them in front of the whole orchestra.”

“With how we pay teachers in America, can music teachers even buy cars at Toyotathon?”

“Of course! Toyotahon is the time of year when anyone can get financing for a new car.”

Everyone stared at Louis Sideways.

“Any other ideas? Do you have any ideas, like someone going to their driveway in a Hallmark Christmas movie scene and seeing a giant bow on their car?”

Tune in this December to see if Toyotathon is a choir fest.
