The Bad Guys Guide to the Big Heist

After successfully helping her friend Greg escape his job as a bad guy henchman, Christie was ready to move on from the Bad Guys Handbook. She was surprised when Greg brought up the subject.

“I have a friend who is interested in knowing more about the Bad Guys Handbook,” Greg said, “He’s having an issue.”

“Then you read the handbook,” Christie said.

“I’m too susceptible,” Greg said. “I’ll just be sucked into that world again. I feel safer going through you.”

“What do you want to know?” Chrisie sighed and opened the book.

“He’s currently a henchman in my old gang. He says that every time they get close to pulling the big heist, a side quest comes up.”

“Oh yes, the age-old problem,” Christie said.

“What is that?”

“You can’t leave your henchmen without an objective.”

“Why not?”

“Because the henchmen will get bored and leave. You have to keep them wanting something.”

“So you never get to do the big heist?” Greg asked.

“There are two options. You either never do the big heist, or you move the target. You make the henchmen want something else.”

“My friend says that the big boss has been pushing pretty hard for them to try to steal an entire arcade.”

“That sounds like a pretty good heist.”

“Yes, but he got them to buy into the Panera Bread heist so much. It’s hard to get them off bread bowls.”

“Being a leader isn’t easy,” Christie said. “If it were easy, you would not need a guide, or henchmen for that matter.”

Greg changed the subject. “Are we going to the all-you-can-eat shrimp place today?”

“Let’s save that for a big occasion,” Christie said.

“You always say that.”
